Canadian living in the UAE? It will soon be much easier to fly between the UAE and Canada. That’s because the two countries have agreed to increase the number of daily flights.
Over the coming weeks, those flying from the UAE to Canada will be able to choose from 21 weekly flights, which is an increase of more than 50 percent.
This means you can expect more flexibility when booking flights between the countries and new routes opening up in the near future.
It’s hoped that the increased number of flights will support tourism and trade between the two countries as the UAE is currently Canada’s largest air transport market in the Middle East.
“This expansion of the Canada-UAE air transport agreement will improve Canada’s international connectivity and enhance people-to-people and commercial links,” said Omar Alghabra, Canada’s Minister of Transport.
Both Emirates and Etihad Airways fly from the UAE to Canada, with Emirates already expanding its number of flights to Toronto.
From Thursday April 20, there will be daily flights between Dubai and Toronto, which equates to an extra 2,000 additional seats per week.
Emirates run the flagship A380 aircraft on the Dubai-Toronto route which allows for 491 passengers across Economy Class, Business Class and First Class on each flight.
Planning to get away for the Eid al Fitr long weekend? Here are 12 countries that offer visa-on-arrival to UAE residents and five break destinations just five hours (or less) away.
